Six years ago, when a tornado ran rampant through my neighborhood, I thought we’d never get our yard back in order.

Over time, it was cleaned up and the damage was forgotten.

My husband said this morning “gardening is a futile attempt at controlling Mother Nature.” In reality, Mother Nature quite often has other design plans!

Last weekend Mother Nature once again reminded us that even though we may go about our daily lives trying to make things perfect, not everything is within our control.

So many things can change in our lives and those changes can happen very quickly. The storm once again reminds me to be present in each moment, and to take joy in the everyday routine of life.

Life isn’t perfect, but “life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful.” – Annette Funicello

To all who are recovering from last weekend’s storms, we wish you a speedy recovery and resolution!
