Our client is a church in the Green Bay, WI area.


As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating, managing the bookkeeping and accounting aspects of two churches.

  • Oversee money counting process and answer questions as needed
  • Balance and record deposits along with classifying deposits
  • Prepare graphs of the weekly financials for the bulletin
  • Accounts payable/receivable
  • Obtain proper approvals on invoices prior to entering into QuickBooks
  • Post EFT and draw automatic payments
  • Enter parishioner weekly offertory and mass counts into the parish software
  • Bank statement reconciliations
  • Journal entries
  • Book monthly recurring payments and journal entries
  • Create and book shared expenses
  • Review transaction journals for missing or reclassification of entries
  • Support accounting needs and reconciliation for other schools
  • Get approvals on invoices
  • Submit timecards and other payroll information to be sent to the outsourced company to process payroll
  • Answer e-mails and questions from families and staff as they arise
  • Prepare quarterly and annual statements for contributions
  • Create month-end and year-end reports
  • Assist with the preparing the annual budgets and reporting
  • Attend financial council meetings and provide financial findings for the meetings
  • Provide 1099 forms as needed
  • Maintain non-profit status paperwork, insurance documents and tax filings as necessary


  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Knowledge in finance with experience working with a non-profit organization is a plus
  • Someone who has some understanding of the catholic religion/terminology is ideal
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Management or a related field is a plus
  • MSWD and Excel skills
  • Any experience with QuickBooks is a huge plus
  • Any experience with Gabriel Census software is a plus
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work well independently
  • Friendly, personable and positive demeanor

  • Someone who will work well interacting with the community and represent the church in a positive manner
  • Excellent organization and administrative skills (especially grammar skills)
