WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As an Accounts Payable Associate, you will prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions
- Resolve discrepancies
- Work with invoices, print vendors, entry of customer invoices and track expenses
- Answer calls and e-mails from vendors in regards to payment
- Monitor bank/credit card transaction activity daily and post transactions
- Print out invoices from vendors
- Review and post operating expense invoices, cash receipts and credit card transactions
- Deposit checks daily
- Enter invoices electronically online and obtains credit card information and process charges
- Runs daily cash position report, cash deposit report and total sales report
- Handle corporate insurance policies
- Processes month-end journal entries and closing and posts monthly accruals and prepaid expenses
- Processes multi-state sales tax reports monthly, quarterly and annually
- Set up new customers, tax codes and schedules
- Processes bank reconciliation and reconciles balance sheet accounts
- Review accounts receivable and make collection inquiries
- Process return of goods, customer credits and credit applications
- Coordinate year-end review with accounting firm
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 2 years of accounting experience knowledge in accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Principles (GAAP) is preferred
- Inventory control experience is preferred
- Must have general math skills
- An Associate degree in Business, Financial or Accounting is preferred
- Excel skills
- Any experience within an ERP system or Sage is a plus
- Must be confident in learning new systems
- Must have strong research skills and able to analyze information
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Must deadline-oriented
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent work ethic and career-driven
