WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As an Accounts Payable Associate, you will prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions
- Resolve discrepancies
- Work with invoices, print vendors, entry of customer invoices and track expenses
- Answer calls and e-mails from vendors in regards to payment
- Monitor bank/credit card transaction activity daily and post transactions
- Print out invoices from vendors
- Review and post operating expense invoices, cash receipts and credit card transactions
- Deposit checks daily
- Enter invoices electronically online and obtains credit card information and process charges
- Runs daily cash position report, cash deposit report and total sales report
- Handle corporate insurance policies
- Process month-end journal entries and closing and post monthly accruals and prepaid expenses
- Process multi-state sales tax reports monthly, quarterly and annually
- Set up new customers, tax codes and schedules
- Process bank reconciliation and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Review accounts receivable and make collection inquiries
- Process return of goods, customer credits and credit applications
- Coordinate year-end review with accounting firm
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Knowledge in accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Knowledge of GAAP is preferred
- Inventory control experience is preferred
- General math skills
- An Associate degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is preferred
- Must be confident in learning new systems
- Excel skills
- Any experience with an erp system or sage would be a plus
- Strong researching skills and able to analyze information
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Deadline-oriented
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Must maintain confidentiality

Length: Temporary to Hire
Pay for the Accounts Payable Associate position: $16.00 – $21.00 / hr. – based on experience
