WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As an Administrative Assistant, you will respond to requests from the Doctors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
- Check benefits for a certain product by calling insurance companies
- Submit prior authorizations for a certain product
- Process same/next day drop offs
- Assist patients with their purchase of batteries and supplies
- Greet patients and visitors in a prompt helpful manner
- Process incoming and outgoing mail
- Enter information in the computer system daily
- Receive payments for services and issue patient receipts
- Make reminder calls for upcoming appointments
- Scan documents and import into patient’s accurate electronic chart/medical record
- Enter charges
- Assist in building marketing items
- Manage patient retention
- Back up the front desk on a regular basis
- Maintain deceased patient charts
- Maintain confidentiality at all time of patient personal and financial information
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 2+ years of experience in a medical office, preferably from an administrative/office assistant role
- Must have basic medical terminology knowledge
- Any medical coding, (medical) insurance verification, billing and/or collections experience is a plus
- Knowledge of audiology and allergy is a plus
- Associate degree in related field is preferred
- Basic skillset in MSWD and Excel
- Strong and accurate data entry skills
- Must be comfortable doing research on the internet
- Professional demeanor
- Positive, outgoing, friendly and easygoing
- Must able to switch gears and multi-task within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must have simple mathematical abilities
- Extremely high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent phone etiquette and a good phone voice
- Strong organizational and prioritizing skills
