WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As a Collections Specialist, you will review documents for services performed and prepare invoices to be sent to customers.
- Follow up with customers on past due balances
- Review bill of ladings, rate cons, and miscellaneous items to calculate total amount due from the customer
- Process at least 85 loads a day
- Process billing through the system
- Follow up on miscellaneous invoices that have not been billed
- Update fuel index into the system
- Resolve customer issues
- Print accounts receivable aging and makes necessary calls
- Notify management of any unresolved collection issues
- Record important information about customers
- Special projects and additional duties as assigned
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 1 year of any type of accounting experience
- Ability to understand the billing and collections process
- Knowledge of transportation industry is preferred
- Associates degree in Accounting is preferred
- Basic MSWD and Excel skills
- Must be technical savvy and be comfortable with general use of the internet and many software programs
- Good with emailing
- Ability to jump in and pick up on job duties and computer systems quickly
- Extremely good at multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Must have good problem resolution and ability to think quickly
- Must be someone who is consistent in fact-checking of your own work
- Ability to actively seek new ways of working to improve productivity
- Ability to communicate openly and honestly with colleagues and customers
- Positive attitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to go with the flow and adapt to change

Length: Temporary to Hire possibly Direct Hire
Pay for the Collections Specialist position: $18.00 – $19.00 / hr. – based on experience
