Our client is an insurance company that has been in business for over 50 years and specializes in life, health, and disability insurance.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

As a Compliance Specialist, you will manage/review existing policies and contract forms.

  • Monitor state filing requirements
  • Create/review updated rates and policy documents
  • Develop, maintain and distribute reports reflecting current and pending forms and/or contract documents
  • Prepare and submit all policy forms filings to insurance departments and assist in in the implementation of state approved policy documents
  • Facilitate compliance with claims payment requirements
  • Work with department staff to ensure forms used by agents/accounts are in compliance
  • Perform on-going audits of department specific functions to ensure company remains in compliance with state and federal laws
  • Review advertisements for assigned product lines in all states
  • Assist associate compliance specialist with product issue instructions, agent appointments and reports, and provide research and consultation as needed
  • Coordinate design and creation of policies and procedures to follow state/federal statutes
  • Work as liaison on all advertisements and product questions including drafting non-standard contract language
  • Coordinate and track handling of insurance departments complaints related to group life and disability products
  • Maintain relationships with contract specialists within other corporate entities
  • Assist with any other duties assigned

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Must have 2 years of insurance compliance experience and/or researching/interpreting life and health insurance laws
  • Strong reading comprehension skills
  • Any marketing experience is a huge plus
  • A Paralegal certificate is a huge plus
  • Basic skillset in MSWD, Excel and Outlook
  • Any experience with Access is ideal
  • Professional and driven
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Must be comfortable working with confidential information
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Strong multitasking and prioritizing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong spelling/grammar skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective listening skills and must appropriately respond to questions asked in a clear and concise manner
