Our client is a surgery and recovery center.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will assist patients with billing and insurance questions and needs.
- Maintain a file of billing requirements for major insurers
- Verify patients insurance for eligibility and benefits
- Assist approving or denying patients
- Send benefit letters and ID cards
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials and submit appeals
- Contact insurance company and patients regarding questions about claims/accounts
- Review EOB’s for correct payment and send statements each week
- Update established patient account information
- Send medical records to insurance companies for claim processing
- Send work comp appeals to the State
- Prepare accounts for collections as well as collects fees and co-payments
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Medical billing or health insurance experience
- Basic claims processing and denials knowledge
- Physiology, anatomy, neurology, and medical terminology knowledge preferred
- Orthopedic background preferred
- Surgery center experience preferred
- Associate degree in Medical Assistant / Administrative Assistant preferred
- Comfortable with computers
- Fast-paced with multitasking skills

- Live within driving distance of Appleton, WI

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Hours: 8 hours per day between 7:00am-5:00pm
Length: Temporary-to-Hire or Direct Hire
Pay for the Medical Billing Specialist position: $22.00-$30.00/hr. based on experience
Location: Appleton, WI. Hybrid option after training. Must live within driving distance of Appleton, WI.
