WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As a Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and performing the accounting and payroll processes of all companies.
- Process payroll for bi-weekly and executive payroll and related journal entries
- Lead the Payroll staff in processing payroll weekly
- Develop Support staff by delegating tasks and promoting understanding
- Maintain updated in the system to include rate tables, tax rates, updates, new users and approve changes
- Monitor supporting spreadsheets for accruals of vacation, personal and holiday pay
- Maintain accurate PTO records, process incoming requests and pay out requested
- Calculate and balance vacation for all weekly employees and annually for the year-end accrual
- Complete employee/employment/wage verification requests
- Monitor bonuses/disability/miscellaneous pay and communicate payment needs to Payroll Specialists
- Develop month-end reconciliations of all payroll related general ledger accounts
- Supervise or perform employee maintenance including garnishments and benefit deductions
- Calculate and pay payroll taxes weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly and annually
- Year-end tax reporting to include W-2’s, 941s, and Unemployment payments and filings
- Maintain accurate records for ACA purposes
- Set up and terminate employee payroll deductions
- Generate and upload ACH files, positive pay files, prenote files, retirement contribution/loan files
- Calculate and upload monthly enrollee and terminations to 401(k) plan/profit sharing plans
- Year-end maintenance-closing for payroll
- Backup Comdata card/check fuel card administration
- Provide coaching and training to Payroll Processors, cross-train payroll processors and provide leadership and backup, audit payrolls and identify additional training needed
- Create and maintain accurate work instructions for all tasks and update annually
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned by the controller
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 2+ years payroll experience
- Previous payroll tax depositing and filing experience including 941s, 940s, 1095s, W2s
- Experience with implementing new payroll systems is ideal
- Management experience is preferred
- Processing trucking payroll experience is preferred
- An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is highly preferred
- Computer savvy with the ability to learn new software
- Excel skills
- Great plains or Optimum Software experience is a plus
- Someone that can handle changes and not stress out if things happen
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to find out root cause of any issues as they arise
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, multiple priorities and work with multiple deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong work ethic and team player

Hours: 7:30am – 4:00pm (can be flexible)
Length: Temporary to Hire
Pay for the Payroll Supervisor position: $24.00 – $28.00 / hr. – based on experience
