WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As a Purchasing Agent, you are responsible for purchasing all shop and office supplies.
- Negotiate and set vendor contracts including pricing, terms and conditions while maintaining professional relationships with all key suppliers
- Search available products to find the best combination of quality, price and delivery
- Develop purchasing strategies and identify buying trends to keep the business profitable
- Create a process and implement inventory pricing
- Monitor and maintain current and incoming inventory processes
- Maintain the shipping and receiving racks
- Work with material handlers to ensure accurate inventory is maintained
- Assist with any other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 1 year of previous purchasing experience
- Basic MSWD and Excel skills
- QuickBooks experience is a plus
- Comfortable working in a laid back office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Customer service skills
- Take direction well
- Dependable and reliable
- Strong interpersonal skills

Hours: 7:00am or 7:30am – 3:00pm
Length: Temporary to Hire
Pay for the Purchasing Agent position: $20.00 – $21.00 / hr. – based on experience
